Timothy P. Cooper
A native of South Charleston, West Virginia, Timothy P. Cooper is a composer and arranger of choral and instrumental music. Many of his works have received honors and awards from organizations throughout the United States, including the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra, Knoxville Symphony Orchestra, College Music Society, and Lyrica Chamber Music. Several of his pieces are available from Heritage Music Press, The Sacred Music Press, and Lorenz Publishing Company.
Since 2014, Tim has been a member of The Lorenz Corporation’s music publishing team, where his responsibilities have included coordinating the development of the company’s new keyboard publications, overseeing Lorenz’s digital publishing efforts, and advising on the company’s marketing and business strategy. Outside of his work at Lorenz, Tim was composer-in-residence with the Kettering (Ohio) Children’s Choir in 2018, and his piece Laetatus sum was a finalist in the 2020 Ithaca College Choral Composition Competition. He studied composition at The Hartt School, the University of Tennessee–Knoxville, and West Virginia University, and is a member of ASCAP and Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia. Tim currently lives in southwestern Ohio with his wife Pam, daughter Larkin, and son Zane.
